I don't have health ins right now either, but I would STRONGLY suggest that you go to your county hospital, such as Highland. (I recently had a FABULOUS experience with Highland, much to my surprise!) It's a PITA, but you have to go through ER and get into the system. Then it's pretty easy to negotiate. DO NOT let them (or anyone) put you off. Unfortunately, in these times, we need to really fight for our own selves, and as I always say, we are our own best advocates.
