Thanks Darla and Heroness, I am hoping for some positive stuff from all this testing... I don't care if they hang me from my feet as long as I can get a good nights rest....

ya know ..Mc...yep..what a freakin yearrrrrrrrrrrrrr its been!

but so glad you are on the other side..and doing your work with healing

I did have one idea....you know what is good for healing..scars..is.. cocoa butter

it is suppose to reduce any keloiding (sp) that happens

and it will make you smell very sweet too!

it is pretty normal I would think..for that ..surgery area to be so darn sensitive..

look what the frig they did to you!

have you talked to your doc ..about the pain in that area?

hope so..

but we know how docs are..if it ain't hurting them..than..everything is fine!

untill we scream loud enough..for them to hear us..hmm and I mean..scream in a the pejorative sense!

the squeaky wheel situation!

well keep healing man..you are in my thoughts!

I am doing much, much better. My neck is still feeling rather crazy and in some sense, I have more localized pain along the huge surgery site than I did before because my nerves are healing.

However, my overall self is feeling pretty close to normal. The neck can be distracting but not in a way that disrupts my normal life. I also had an adjustment to my thyroid hormone replacement - I was feeling pretty tired and seriously depressed for a bit. Tests showed my thyroid hormone levels were low. Now, with adjustment, I feel pretty durn good!

Since my last scan, neither my radiologist or my endocrinologist have said much. Must mean things are coming along as expected. Also, my last checkup with surgeon went well - everything I am feeling is normal and within the boundaries of typical scenarios for type of cancer and procedures I had. In a few weeks, a thyroglobulin test will determine if my residual thyroid activity is fully ablated. If not, I might have to go through one more single low dose of radioactive iodine. If not, then I am done with treatment for now and I will be having scans done every year for awhile.

Thanks for asking. I haven't said much lately which means I have been busy which is a very good thing! My big 4-0 comes up at the end of the week also. Phew - what a year that was!
Peace.
