No, that's not a command - that's what happened to me last night and I'm still a little hungover with it.

Last night, my husband suggests we get a piece of plexiglass to put down between us in bed so the "exhaust" from the BiPAP/mask doesn't blow on him. Grrrrr...like I have some choice about this damned contraption.

What do you people with partners do? Do you all have that kind of problem?

Stan's not crazy about my "exhaust" when it blows on him either. He just moves a bit away from me or rolls over. He doesn't make much of a fuss about it. We have more of an issue with our dog, Rookie, who likes to sleep between us so he's warm and cozy. Rookie doesn't even mind the "exhaust". Heck, Rookie even gives me a good-nite kiss when I'm wearing my mask; granted, it's awkward, but Rookie manages it.

I've had to make the "me or the machine" choice. She's such a lite sleeper that my nightnoise keeps her up for hours. Guess who won? The good news is that I'm down 15 pounds, from daily walks through the Michigan dunes, and SWMBO says it's had a noticable effect on my unmasked sleep. Hotdam!

Sounds like a group sponsored invention is in order, no? Sleep Apnea Circle Presents the Exhaust Away...

Seriously, though, I wish I could provide some advice but I have not had to deal with anyone dealing with my BiPap exhaust "sniff sniff". I am thinking maybe he isn't being careful enough about what he wishes for and maybe a run with plexiglass-actually might trigger a re-eval of his suggestion. Or maybe not.

Sorry, Darla. All I can say is I feel your pain.

    Can you swap masks?

The early three strap resmed mask exhausted straight out from the head, which was bad if you slept on your side and turned towards your partner.

Later versions were changed to exhaust along the hose, which meant you could sleep on your side facing your partner.

    hmmm...Darla..now that is a conundrum....

I say..tell him..to cover his shoulders with his blanket..

guess..you guys ..are just gonna have to sleep ..back to back!

you can always get a good snugglin in that way...

    I sleep alone..soooo...sadly...

my pillows don't complain..about my ....exhaust system!

Well, I only sleep on my sides, so eight hours (or so) on one side is a little rough. We have started using a pillow on its side and it seems to do the trick. I was just so pissed by his complaint, and that was wrong of me - I guess I was feeling a little defensive about it.

Thanks, guys. You rock. So does my husband, even when he throws fits (which is not often, really)!!!

well when you roll over..to the side facing him...

you could always jump over him...and face outwards...

or you could make h im...jump over you..if he is so bothered..

        hehehe..only teasing you

I am a side sleeper too..

but my knee has been bothering me so much at night..

the only position..sometimes..I can get in..is on my back..with a pillow under my knee!

        Good Luck Darla...

heydid you ever see those beds in the old..days..that had the board down the middle..so there was no fooling around..
you could always look for one of those..on ebay!

hmmm wonder how happy he would be ..about THAT!
