Re: Sleep Apnea Circle..
Thu, March 1, 2007 - 1:51 PMHow correct you are!
And "circle" is also the perfect description of what OSA causes IMHO: a vicious circle! Think about it. Lack of sleep, proper sleep, regenerative sleep, causes almost ALL other facets of our lives to spiral endlessly into a circle of despair. We're too tired to truly live and enjoy our lives. We suffer from extreme lack of energy which others with our condition may interpret as laziness. We may have self-esteem issues because we may be misunderstood as to why we're so tired and seemingly lackluster. The more sleep we try to get (without treatment), the more tired we are. The added sleep we try to get does nothing to help us. The more we try to sleep the more hours we seemingly "waste" during the day causing us to look like lazy, good-for-nothing clods. And the circle goes on and on.
With treatment our circle does not end up being a meaningless endless road of despair. With treatment our circle becomes what it is meant to be: a complete life!
Of course, this is all my humble opinion.
Love,
Leah

that was like a bucket of cold water..on my warm thoughts
I was feeling all fuzzy..and warm.... and yikes..
but what you say is very true..
it is a circle..with all these health issues.. of which we could add ..depression..
because of the feeling so lousy....and unable to enjoy our life..it adds to the depression
but girlfriend.... I agree with.. our little Darla...!
you are a dedicated .. woman to this cause! -

Re: Sleep Apnea Circle..
Fri, March 2, 2007 - 9:26 AMHeron,
I completely agree with your warm and fuzzy thoughts & feelings!!!! I never intended for my post to "slap you in the face"! I apologize.
My intent was to try and illustrate the flip side of our nice warm and cozy circle. When our circle is rotating clock-wise, it's warm and fuzzy and complete and calm and giving, etc. When our circle is rotating counter clock-wise, it's utter chaos.
Aw hell, I need a cuppa. Its too early in the morning for me to wax poetic.
Wax on, Wax off! -

Wed, March 7, 2007 - 8:47 AMI am still in the chaos part, I'm sorry to say. I forgot to say that I was invited to come here by someone who posted a comment in my journal. I have been writing about the CPAP experience there.
